9ine Tech Academy - Cybersecurity & Systems Hardening

9ine Tech Academy – Building a zero trust architecture through cybersecurity and systems hardening

Monthly workshops and mobile app access throughout the school year

This program represents formal, structured, and in-depth training for school IT professionals about hardening IT systems to reduce the vulnerability of a successful cyber attack. Participants will gain an instructional understanding of how to improve cyber security and IT systems operational performance at their school.

Supporting the delivery of the content is the 9ine App - a tool that enables users to follow step-by-step instructions in implementing the topics for each program module. Access to the app will be provided for the duration of the Tech Academy and until the end of June 2025.

New option for 2025: 9ine Privacy Academy: Data privacy and protection training for independent schools.

Target Audience

Independent school technology leaders and their teams

Outcomes

Participating schools will leave with a structured approach, methodology, and resources to implement a "zero trust" cyber model that will reduce the risk and likelihood of a successful cyber attack.

Additionally, tech leaders will learn how to evidence the resources (people, budget, time) to school administrators to keep the school safe and secure.

Price

The cost is based on a per-person amount for each school participating.

ATLIS Members: $995 per person, additional attendees $615 each
Nonmembers: $1495 per person, additional attendees $865 each

Format

Monthly online workshops will provide live training, with each event lasting up to two hours and available for on-demand access.

Supporting the content is the 9ine App, which enables users to follow step-by-step instructions in implementing the topics for each module.

On expiration of access to the 9ine App (on June 28th, 2025), schools will have the option to maintain access for a set annual cost of approximately $1750 per school, per year.

Tech Academy 2024-2025 has been split into three tracks, each with a slightly different flavor, supporting schools to choose the track that best fits their needs. The feedback from 2023-2024 has informed a reduction from nine sessions in a track of no more than six. Additionally, we are providing more content prior to the start of each session and more support during the course of the program.

Supporting the delivery of all Tech Academy tracks is the 9ine Platform - a SaaS tool that enables you to follow step-by-step instructions in implementing the topics for each module. The platform has been enhanced and expanded, with our updated ‘Training Academy’, providing on-demand video tutorials, quizzes, and other resources - thus creating a truly revolutionary approach to Tech Team Professional Development in Education.

The 2024-2025 Tech Academy is structured with three tracks to choose from. Each track runs independently of the others, and should you want to, you can register for more than one (at an additional cost).

The tracks have been created to reflect the different skills within a standard tech tTeam. Therefore we have a ‘Operational’ focused track, a ‘Technical’ track, and a track that is suitable regardless of skills.

The three tracks are:

  1. NEW: Security Standards, Frameworks & Accreditation (Operational)
  2. Network Security & Standards (Technical. Note - This duplicates the 2023-2024 Tech Academy course content)
  3. NEW: Cyber Awareness (Operational & Technical)

Cyber Basics and Cybersecurity Awareness and Training

Cyber attacks occur through a number of avenues. These can generically be split into unprotected internet facing systems or services and through user accounts or devices. With the latter, a user's account or device is compromised, then when connected to the school network, vulnerabilities are across other devices and accounts, followed by lateral movement by the malicious actor until they are in control of sensitive data or systems. This module takes a look at how to best raise awareness of your users.
